Outdoor theatre as the bard might have known it. The theatre season runs from May to October, but there are other things going on the rest of the time: a permanent exhibition about Shakespeares life, times and work; temporary exhibitions on various themes; talks and rehearsed readings; a backstage tour; and at Christmas, a frost fair. Be warned - this is not the most comfortable theatre in London, even in the expensive seats and the cheapest tickets mean standing all the way through!
